I'm using a Bushnell 4-16x44 on a HOWA1500 Varmint 20" .223
Vortex are great scopes for the money and I have a Viper HST 6-24x50 on my .308.
The HST tracks back to zero perfectly every time.
The 4-16x44 is a fine(IMO) power for .223 and I've shot it out to 400 at range with clear picture.
As for the HOWA1500 .223 and if they can shoot, they're way better than me and with a load it likes will easily shoot sub 0.5MOA
Mine is still in the factory Hogue stock (which the .308 and 6.5 hated)
See second target top row and first in (small) second row. That second row 25.4gn "Super Roo" is 8 shots in the dot at 100m
Happy with that for a $449 rifle hey.
Hope that helps
