No Corn, you're not. This technology and social media stuff may be endlessly fascinating for some, but for a lot of older blokes like me it is not something we do. Annoys me endlessly that I try to look at something on the system I actually do understand and they're using this stuff. The grumpy old man in me thinks it's quite rude actually.

Yeah, F**k that facesmash thing... A nephew tried to encourage me to go on crapbook, started showing me it but after seeing three or four random people I didn't know doing the whole "look at me I had Vegemite on toast for breakfast" thing and that people liked it or something :? :problem: :wtf:  I decided to pass

It is rude...!!
I was at a Xmas work function last night, 2 couples conversing at a table...the female partner of a work collegue was doing the bookface thing with her phone stuffed in her face...gargling everytime she spoke due to not really knowing where we were up to in the conversation topic she started.
Her hubby told her twice to put the phone down, hinting its rude...so the stupid bitch left the table mid conversation--you know--because thats not rude...!
Funny thing is she really gave the impression she was quite the intellect, a ways above most others there...
Those type are simple idiots...!
What a waste of time...

Pretty funny that...... The only stuff that will show up in your feed is stuff that you want to see because you have clicked "like", or made or accepted a friend request, or joined a specific group. You will get some stuff that computer algorithms predict you will be interested on based on other stuff that you look at. However, for the most part you can block that. In reality it's no different to choosing to come to a forum like this and seeing stuff that other people put up here, and then choosing to comment, just look at, or ignore. Seriously, these types of forums aren't much different to the way I use FB. If you don't want to use it, I couldn't give a rats bum. No skin off me. No skin off you. No need for anyone to be rude.

My nephew was showing me on his account, so I guess they were people form his groups then..

In any event I was not trying to be rude, so sorry for coming across like that.

I guess the point out of all this is that we have a great forum that is inclusive of everyone who can use a basic PC. The more technical stuff leaves some people behind and that is not inclusive. The sad part is that some of the people excluded probably have more experience and knowledge than I could ever hope to attain. But I guess that's progress, huh?
