Having every licensed firearms owner in the country go out and buy a firearm in March just won't happen. Perhaps half million March might have been within the realms of possibility.

What model are you going with? The 20 inch barrel with Iron siights looks like it would make for a great slug gun.

Yeah going for the 20" the 24" is just a touch long for the missus to use comfortably!!
Its limited to 21/2" shells but that's plenty for the intended purpose ( havin fun!!)
Might fit it with a red dot just cause!!

I have a Marlin lever .410, I mainly use it for shooting rats when cleaning out sheds, pens ect. My partner finds it a little on the heavy side, it also has enough power to put unruly sheep down out to about 50m when using slugs.

What are the dimensions of your McShort ?
Gwion wrote:JS, if you're going a 16" 223rem, keep in mind that leaves you no room to recrown or set back the barrel if anything nasty happens.

When getting barrels built I always get them profiled so that they can be re-chambered at least a couple of times. You'll wear the throat out before the bore so an apparent "shot out" barrel will have a new lease of life with a "cut and shut". I've had a few of my rifles that have given me extended barrel life by doing this, both target and hunting rifles . I'll add that they are always well and truly long enough as well.
If you buy a barrel that is already at minimum legal length, this is an option you won't have.
