Orphan Annie (Price check selling my 1416DHB)

Post by Lorgar » 17 Jan 2018, 8:34 pm

(Mods I hope this is ok, I know you guys removed the Classifieds section. Just looking for a price check for putting up on UsedGuns.)

So I've decided the time has come to part with my girl, Annie. I used to live 5 minutes from the SSAA Springvale range so it was easy to get up there an afternoon or two a week. I've since moved, and I just don't get there anymore and I'm only really at places where centrefire is the go.

I think it's time I sell her in favour of a long range centrefire build.

So anyway, my point is I'm after a feel on what she's worth. I've been following UsedGuns for a few weeks but this config just doesn't come up.

She's in great nick, a lovely bit of timber and shoots great.

From memory the rifle was $1,500 new, and I think (fuzzy) the scope was $550, it's a Bushnell 4200 8-32x40 AO.

Would y'all say $1,400 for the package is reasonable?

It's fine as is, Lorgar. I'm sure you read the past bits on 'For Sale' ads though, keep it as just finding out a price.

(I did actually give your post the boot for 2 seconds but changed my mind  )

I just got quoted $1455 for a new one from NIOA so you're pretty close with the $1500 valuation. If it was a lefty I'd be on it like a fat kid on cake.

Have a look at what sort of money they are bringing on Used Guns, that will give you an idea of what price they are selling/asking for, you'll soon see if you are in the right ball park then.

Sure do....my son's a lefty and I've been searching for a suitable L/H rifle for rimfire competition. Narrowed it down to the Anschutz in the link or a Lithgow depending on which one arrives in stock first :)

I've been keeping an eye out, just never the same config as I said. Always different stock, sporter barrel, poorer condition, etc.

All good, seems I was close enough so will chuck it up soon.

Or maybe Brett will snap it up if he decides he wants an ambidextrous challenge

I've had a 1416 with the best piece of timber I've seen on a 64 Anschutz for sale for a while. Replacement cost of the bare rifle with all the after market gear that goes with it is approx. $2,250.00 - Can't give it away for $1,100.00.

People prefer the 54 action. The 1710 with the Heavy Barrel is the one most are after i think anyway.

Apples and oranges there, mate.

The 1710 is $2,700

The 1416 is $1500.

(Smaller detail but no beavertail stock for BR with the 1710 either)

Plenty of people would love this rifle, and the price point is a lot more affordable than the 1710.
