Another observation is the scope/rings look a pretty tight fit...
Its hard to tell from the pic, but make sure the rings have good clear contact with NO interference from the bell or ocular end of the scope...if there is any interference it wont be doing the groups or the scope any good...!!!
The other thing to consider is given the rifle is a class aged character being of blued/timber ethnicity, maybe its just too embarrassed to shoot straight while its being forced to wear silly looking silver rings...

Yeah , BFS . It still shoots 50’s well , but the 1-12 twist rate means it shoots 60’s quite well now. I’m going to try some 60 gn soft points at some stage, if they work well it should give the old 222 a lot more versatility. As for lighter loads , I ended up buying my old hornet rifle back ....

Sheesh Rich...you treat your LGS like a pawn shop ....all you did was pay interest on a loan against the old hornet...

y'know stix , i thought i was a gunaholic when actually i've got a bad case of buyagunitis yes mate, i can be impulsive at times and being a bit OCD as well doesn't help the guy who owns my LGS is always happy to see me, i've chopped and changed a bit, done like for like deals ( no waiting on a PTA ), i got rid of the krico hornet cause with a heavy target type barrel it was a pain to lug around the paddock and i didn't get the opportunities to sit and snipe at wabbits and such like i hoped. but i missed it and in hindsight shoulda kept it . i got some new plans however ........ . back on topic to azza's BSA , it's peaked my interest in this brand and i've noticed one online in 22-250
