the scope is a vortex viper model : HST 4-16-44 VHS 4309,warne maxima rings i just bought myself and fitted, had crap pro-tactical scope rings.
it will do to start with ,will upgrade if i need to . Not real sure how much it is ,about $800.00 or so from what i can find online about it.
It came with the gun when i bought it.

get the best scope you can afford i reckon. i fit leupold vx 2's and 3's on most of my rifles. you may need a scope with more magnification if ya gunna get serious about range shooting. ya might have to buy another gun to put the vortex on but....

Got some heavy loads all lined up?
CZ 550 American Safari Magnum in .416 Rigby

Other puny calibre rifles... What man would want you now?

this post is called "my new baby", so here goes .well fellas, i bit the bullet and bought my first brand spankers new rifle  everything else i own has been qaulity second hand stuff ( suppose that depends on your view of qaulity ) thought about buying another old krico 22lr and modifying/restoring it, then thought about how good and accurate my old hw60j weihrauch 22 mag was. a LOT of similarities/ design features between these german guns. did some research and found the new hw66 comes with a heavier barrel and reviewers have shot some really awesome groups . .45 at 50 and .75 at 100 with premium ammo. gunna run this in at ripley on the weekend if the weather allows. will post some groups ounce it's sorted  gunna go have a few beers and drool on it now  :drinks:  :drinks:

patience and practice mate . one of the reasons 22lr is a good thing. lots of practice to develope technique for not a lot of dollars on ammo, factory ammo choice is a big variable. been sorting my old krico 22 hornet. hornady ammo shoots 50 to 70 percent better than other brands. norma ammo in my 22-250 and 6.5x55 shoots awesome. try to find a box of premium european tikka, norma or american hornady and see how it shoots. winchester and remington ammo doesn't work for me. federal ammo is pretty consistant. what brand of ammo were you shooting mate ?

Try some 80 grain Berger target VLD., I have had some very respectable groups using them.
