Ball & Shot Moulds.

For those of you who do not know me, I am an 18th century living historian & experimental archaeologist. All my trekking/camping gear & muzzleloading gear is early to mid 18th century, either original or copies. So these moulds are carried with me in the bush so that I can mould more ammunition when needed, just as woodsmen did in the New World during the 18th century.

Top mould is a swanshot mould (buckshot). Lower mould is my round ball mould for my fusil. The lead ladle in the center is a copy of an original that I found during my research.

and that has made all the difference.

I do all my casting in the field, it is safer that way. No toxic fumes in an enclosed space. In the video I did the casting in an open fire up at the old cottage where the room is airy & the fumes go up the chimney. Nothing we carry is for novelty, we use the equipment we carry.
