Nice should do the job nicely. The Bushnell are a good midrange scope. run it in according to the Howa guide  then develop a load lots of frustration and fun.

Love that new rifle smell.
It'll shoot the fleas off a dog's back at five hundred yards, Tannen, and it's pointed straight at your head!

Nice one mate, if the trigger isn't light enough give the ebay trigger guy a call (he's on facebook these days) just do a search there I'm sure you'll find him.

Re the scope, I;'ve read a few recent issues with them but they are covered by warranty so not the end of the world.

Own quite a few howas with boyds stocks and all have been excellent rifles

Yes indeed it does, I've done the same to one of my Howas and never worried about doing to the others and they all shoot very well as a rule, some believe in doing it some don't just do what works for you I say and Allens a good fella, he will do a good job I'm sure.

Don't forget to come back and let us know how it all goes.

horses for coarses southwest. makes sense to me to "run in " a barrel. ya run in a new motor, ya go easy on fresh brakes till they bed in. if i spend my hard earned cash on a new gun or barrel, and the advice from the maker or gunsmith is to "break it in ", then that's what i'll do rather than risk not getting the best result out of it. i got a mate who doesn't beleive in it, doesn't clean his centre fires either. he always wonders why my rifles shoot that bit better :unknown:

Allan swann gunsmith said he uses the same procedure on his barrels and guns for breaking in. Said it is good to do it

I wish I'd done a search on the Howa website before I took mine to the range for the first time. I did a break-in procedure but nothing that detailed or prolonged. http://howa-rifles.co.uk/downloads/Howa ... cedure.pdf

At the risk of reigniting the "Windex as a bore cleaner debate", I note Howa specifically recommend using it in their rifles. Seems reasonable.

Stick with your break in procedures until copper fouling settles down. Every competitive shooters uses a similar method to run in match grade barrels, even more important with factory barrels that don't have that high finish. Your barrel will shoot better and foul less.
