large bolt handle, high quality pic rail, coated bolt very smoothly to operate, only the mag looks a little plastic, may buy lucky13 10 round mag later

I believe the 168 Z-max got more accuracy potential, 4 shot got 2 holes next to each other, the last one fly a little it was my fault
the best reload should be near 42.5gr, will try if have chance to shoot 200 meters...

recoil is really gentle compares to other 308s, no need muzzle break I reckon, 24 inch barrel version is not too heavy, not too long, still easy to carry

Very nice SHV - I have the exact same rifle but the compact 20” CTR version. It’s so stupidly accurate I find it kinda boring lol! Most of the time I just plink 30/30 RNFP lead over Trail Boss through her actually - only 2-3moa but I can’t manage any better than that from offhand anyway! I actually found the recoil to be quite stiff (especially with heavier loads and the stock pad), swapped it for a limbsaver which is tons better now - but I suppose yours is a bit heavier though right?
At what point does lack of maintenance become patina?

CTR with 10 round steel mag? I like it especially 10 round steel mag but I have too many short barrel rifles so this time got 24 inch barrel t3 tactical
where did you buy the round nose lead cast projectiles? couldn't find at LGS

Yep CTR has the steel 10-shot. I know what you mean about "too many short barrel rifles"; they are practical but I'm in the same boat, I'm also moving away from shorter barrels simply because I have enough bloody carbines to sink a (small) ship :P currently playing around with a 24" 1892 which is an absolute hoot.

Actually I'm back on the HRBC wagon again (now the move is all settled down) - the new owner Les is an absolute champion with a big focus on customer service. You can just order online and if needed he'll size em for yu. In saying that, I've also been using those Bullet Factory projs for my longer range requirements and hunting; you actually got me onto those SHV! I saw a post of yours a while back and thought I'd give em a try; bloody good pill for 43c a pop I must say!

Im Glad they are shooters, being tikka though that isn’t a surprise. :drinks:
Are you planning on handloading and going long range or just hunting and plinking?

tried speer varmint 130gr around 26.5 cents each inc. postage, not too bad, looks like 45.7-46.0 will be the best load, the good thins is POIs nearly the same compare to other projectiles, the speer varmint 130gr can be a good training round at short range
