So am I ,but in the meantime I bought one of those shotgun primer conversions from Northern shooters in case I am stuck. Not used it yet but.

I've seen modern muzzleloading rifles that use 209 primers. Didn't know there was a conversion. Can you get them for revolvers? I just need caps for the revolvers, I'm shooting blackpowder cartridges in other things.

Primer prices continue to ease down here in the USA this spring. I don't think we will get back to $30 for a thousand but maybe close to it. I think I saw a sale for $39.99 for a thousand.
There is no longer any shortage of any kind of primers. All up to companies in Australia to import them.
perentie wrote:I dont think they would fit a revolver. Too wide , and you need to get your fingers there to screw off the cap the 209 sits under.
Save your caps for the revolvers and use the conversion for long arms. That plastic hose thing works,I tried it. Piece of tubing about 4 mm long over nipple and a small pistol or rifle primer stuck in it. Hammer slides the tubing down and sets off the primer. Bit of fiddling to get the size right but works if stuck but.
The 209 conversion cost over $100 so 6 for a revolver would be $700 even if they fitted.
