Composition of cartridge cases

Quick question:
what is the general composition, Brass/Copper/other metals, of the typical cartridge case.
90% Brass, 10% Copper ? etc. I'm sending some unwanted "brass" to my sister who is experimenting in jewellery for an arts course.

Cartridge brass is usually 70% copper, 30% zinc. There are different brass compositions, but this one seems to have the best cold-working properties. I don't know how this compares to things like brass jewellery or military badges for example.

This, cartridge brass is an Alpha Type brass of nominally 70/30 composition with less than 0.07% Lead, with the UNS # C26000 (JIs C2600)

Thanks folks, I sent her all this info, she checked with her tutor, and it all works fine for her purpose. Actually made me a silver ring with the Nordic symbol of our family name engraved on it. Very cool. Its all part of her Uni course.
cheers
