Was there another price rise with powders getting back on shelves.

I did an hour drive to get a spare kg of 8208 incase it runs out again.
Price difference paid for fuel easily but used some toll roads that cost more than fuel now days.

It's a principal thing for me, if a shop does the right thing on prices, I just wait until I need a few things and do the run.

There is a bit of gouging happening. Big variations in price.

I'm ok for some time yet. But I'll pig out when the prices fall back to normal.

And that’s with everything in our country. Local big business and corporate are screwing us . Lots of imported items are now super expensive because the cost of shipping containers into the country is 4 times what it used to be. I’ve heard this from multiple sources. Guess who owns the bulk of the container ships in the world, china. As a country we import more than exports. So shipping to Australia isn’t really profitable. When truckies do an interstate run they get a return load otherwise they’re running at a loss . International shipping is no different. A lot of people think conspiracies are behind everything these days. It’s much simpler, money

Pretty much bigrich, big business is all it takes for most of the crapola in the world. And yes shipping is still terrible price, I was in international logistics, it spiked 1200% during covid, never dropped below 200% again . Gouging, monopolisation, unfair trading etc, at the time it was like all the normal laws, (and there are books full of such regs) were just thrown in the bin. And they still are. Prosecutions for this behaviour are a tiny fraction what they used to be or just a slap on the wrist . Much like youth crime, no one seems to be trying real hard to solve it..

Blaming the chinks who are at just one end of the supply chain doesnt explain why we are getting screwed at both ends -and the middle.

All the worlds white, brown and yellow Billionaires are making the same money out of it. Even the ones with Aussie accents. Since these wars for Coviukrainium started, the big players ALL doubled and tripled their net worth. While we pay double price of living.

In theory it should be abt $155kg. I believe ADI sells it all at the same price. But there is plenty of gouging going on.

Ozgunmart did have 650?? it at that price. Seems out of stock now.

500gm bottles no longer exist. APS650 and APS950 have been on shelves recently, whether any is still around though I don't know. Try emailing the bigger places.

I made just over 1500rds of .38 Special Trailboss loads during the week. 2gn, so about 3000gn of powder, or about 200 grams of powder, I love it :-) I don't like the big 1.5kg bottles so I transferred it into 500gm bottles, holding 250g of TB each. If I ever manage to run out I want to see if the new formula is as good.

Can ANYONE tell me why ADI dont have a page on their website, outlining/describing their products?
In my (version 7) of the ADI reloading manual, there is a 2-page spread(pages 38/39) that gives a brief description of each of their products.
In the case of the powders, it describes the characteristics of the powder, and a 'Typical Application' section.

I went searching today, and couldnt find anywhere that they do same on their website.
Anyone know why??

Seems like a really handy page to have online; giving consumers of your products the info to look at alternative powders that might suit them better?

Or am I missing something?

Is there some sort of benefit of keeping this info hidden until the consumer has committed to buying the paper version of your reloading guide??

Seems arse-about to me..
Dont really see why describing your products needs to be a Secret-Squirrel sort of affair.

MIght have to write to ADI and inquire; wondered if anyone here already knew the answer..
[Dark humour in me wonders if I'll get the reply "Because we are FRENCH!"]

So would I. I can't tell people how to spend their money, but I hope they're not buying at gouging prices. Helps no one.

Jorlcrin wrote:Can ANYONE tell me why ADI dont have a page on their website, outlining/describing their products?

Their website is at least a couple of years behind ever since they were trying to find their feet with the new formula. I'd give it another 6-12 months while their new products stabilise and mature, before you start seeing new product lines and reloading data.

Hopefully their prices will also adjust downwards.

Trelley's in Bendigo had APS650 in 500g lots, if I remember rightly (2 weeks ago) it was just under $ 100 per 500g. They had, but had sold out, of 2Kg and I noted they had a container (largeish) behind the counter for a customer who had ordered earlier (possibly 4lb) of Alliant Red Dot.

Yeah... Not really what I'm talking about.
ADI have a 2-page spread of product descriptions in their printed manuals, for each of their product lines.
I have version 7 of the reloading manual, which says it was printed in 2014, and they have the 2-page spread of the descriptions in there.

But still no info on their website?
10 years to still not have even the 2014 product info online, seems a bit more than simply lax.
For reloaders considering changing to a more readily available powder, this info would be handy.
They do have the chart of burn-rate equivalents online, but they dont have ANY of the product descriptions, which they obviously have on hand.
And many of the product lines like AR2208, Benchmark, AR2206H etc have been produced for well over 20 years now.

Anyhoo; looks like I'll be sending a cheery Christmas query to the folks at ADI...
