What Add-Ons to my RCBS RC Kit now?

Post by TBJ » 25 Sep 2018, 8:27 pm

Out of curiosity now that I've been reloading for a while and I've managed to save up some more cash after buying the kit, what's next to buy? At the moment I have an RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme Kit, Redding No. 5 Powder trickler, Lyman Universal Trimmer, The Nick Harvey and the ADI Reloading manuals (along with the Nosler one that came with the kit) an RCBS die set for .300WM, .308, .223 and 22-250 and about to get some for the .204 and .17 Hornet. Whats next? I was thinking about case cleaning like a tumbler or an ultra-sonic but what do you guys suggest? what about something like an RCBS Chargemaster Lite or other digital scales? Or any other things you guys would suggest?
thanks.

If you are so inclined wet tumbler, but i find the ultrasonic does a pretty good job with my current recipie to clean and only 8min run time per 50 on 308 brass. Total cost 70bucks.

Could have gone slightly bigger from the 1.5L unit and could do more.

Ppl use chargemaster some don't. I have a decent set of scales gempro250 and a trickler. Very happy with it.

Or you could just get more powder and projectiles and fire away

G'day Ziad,

Mate, my "wet tumbler" is an old 2lt ice cream container. I put the cases in with some warm soapy water, apply a goodly amount of elbow grease, rinse and repeat. Works a charm.
A lot to be said for hillbilly engineering solutions. :D

Mate I have the RCBS chargemaster Lite and I rate it highly. That’s just my personal opinion.
I also have a sonic cleaner that does a great job of cleaning brass both inside and out. I use the Lyman brass cleaning solution in it, or as an alternative, water, vinegar, dishwashing liquid solution.
Prior to the sonic cleaner I just use the vinegar solution in a plastic container which was also satisfactory.

I used a sonic cleaner for a while this one
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DIGITAL-STA ... 1083936001
then i tried
Smart Reloader SR787 Niagara Falls Media Tumbler
both work well as to what else you should get some form of a bullet puller I would not recommend a charge master ( I have one and think they are great but you said the magic words save up for ) just a decent digital scales will do for some time .
