.260 Load development pt2

Post by Elmer » 30 Oct 2018, 12:39 pm

Thought I continue on with load development for the .260,using AR2213sc, Fed gold match primers, Lapua cases and Hornady 143gn ELD-X projies.
Overall Iam quite pleased with the results with the average of 5 groups just a tad over .5"
The smallest was .221" , largest .886' for 3 shots at 100yds with a bastard of a mirage to contend, lowest charge was 44.2gns up to 45.7gns in .3gn increments, with no sign of excessive pressure....the smallest was 44.8gns.
cheers.

Yep, that mirage was something special - I'm surprised you managed to get any worthwhile groups at all ...

Hi BRNO,
yeah it was a bit rugged, sometimes the target spot would vanish all together.

How fast could 45.7 grains of short cut get the 143 grain pills going?
