I can't answer the longevity question as I just went over 500 reloads on mine.
But I have realised that they need to be cleaned similar to my firearms.
I have found that wax and grease remover (Bunnings has it) works great on cotton buds to do the job. The dies are clean and dry at the end of the process.
I oil any threads with singer sewing machine oil (don't tell my wife-I pinched this from her sewing room!) and am looking forward to giving the dies to my great-great-grandkids when I get to frail to pull the press handle or a trigger.......
I have decided to clean the dies after every 250 rounds.
Having read the other comments (and looking outside at the NSW rain that has kept the humidity at 100% for the past 4 days...) I will pay attention to corrosion in future. I have not yet oiled entire dies, thinking to keep the oil away from the brass necks, powder, primers, etc. Maybe I need to start doing that!
Regards,
Jarhead
