This happened.I am sure the flash hole was blocked and the primer has taken the worst of it.When I pulled the round it had powder and the projectile had not moved. These purple nylon tipped rounds were assembled by one of my team now I don't trust the rest of them.I am gratefull it did not happen at the range.Anyone else have this happen :unknown: :unknown:

It looks like the anvil is concave.....
If so you might want to pull the firing pin assembly and give a good clean .......

If what earlier posters have surmised is in fact true then your firing pin may be somewhat off center.
Have a look at a normally fired round and evaluate just how far off center the firing pin blow actually is.
A seriously off center firing pin can contribute to erratic ignition as distinct from missfires or hangfires.

Nice diagnostics 243, this is my fear when reloading and have a nervous habit of running my finger over every primer I seat to check the depth and that I didn't put it in back to front.

Reloading requires developing good habits and we've all gone thru the same mistake

Trimming cases to minimum length.

Use a case holding tray

Priming case and placing the case upside down, all primers can be seen.

After you have loaded an appropriate powder weight the case is then placed upright

Visually checking the case has powder before placing a projectile and seating.

Nuthin worse than hearing a click with out the boom and even worse to the hear primer go off and then a delayed ignition due to a massive under charge.

Safety is paramount if you want to roll your own.

Thanks ........... I do t have that problem because I use these , best thing I ever bought for priming 4-5 hundred cases a lot quicker than any way I have seen and still have a feel for how things are going .
