COAL question

Post by Cal-ApeR » 09 Mar 2019, 11:22 am

A quick and easy one for the knowledge people.

I have found a whole heap of once fired brass from when I first started reloading. Brass is 308. Now I resized them all and tried trimming them back but went way too short. Nick Harvey days trim to length - 50.92mm. Some of mine are as short as 50.71mm.

From my understanding these are still safe to load but may suffer with neck tension and possible accuracy, correct?
Secondly, will firing these likely lengthen them back up to around spec?

I'm bored with brass lying around this weekend so though I'd give it a go. Cheers in advance.

yes they are safe to use :drinks:
and no they wont suffer with neck tension and possible accuracy problems at those minor under trim lengths, you are looking at under 10 thou
just shoot them and fls and they will grow back to length

Thanks guys. It doesn't, it was a hand me down. I've since picked up the Lee case length gauge and find their stuff a lot easier to use in this department.
