Anyone using ADI brass?

Post by saucy » 12 Feb 2014, 10:35 am

Hi guys,

I see ADI are making brass now... Anyone used it yet?

They are talking it up quite a bit as being military spec/quality for consistency. Sounds good anyway...

I've only seen .223 Rem available at the moment. Not sure if they're doing the full spread of just this yet. After the 'designed for military' bit I wondered if they were only doing 5.56mm and 7.62mm or something if anyone knows?

Just curious anyway. Interesting that they anneal the cases too and you can see that's been done straight out of the bag.

Anyone tried them?

They're doing their own loaded ammo too (223 and 308 only as far as I'm aware)

I'm using some old stuff bought once fired from an air force base a long time ago, don't know if they're still making to the same specifications but the brass I've got is good. Seems to be relatively thick and gives good consistency. Plus it's survived over 10 reloads without annealing so I'm happy with it

Not that it's of any use to 99% of people here but they're also doing 50 cal brass.

Initial reports on the ADI brass seem good. High points for consistency, the only negative so far is that the walls are reportedly thicker than your average competitor which has thrown some peoples loads a little.

With the smaller capacity I've read a few reports of pressure signs at less than max loads also. If you've got an accurate load without those signs though it's really neither here nor there.
See you on the firing line.

Seems to be popular with the 300 AAC Blackout crowd for necking down .223 to suit their purposes.

Nick thick brass to take all that work and still be solid.

I've been using their 223 brass for a while now and have had no problems with it. Some of them would be getting up to its 10th loading and still fine, I've been loading them hot too so been keeping an eye on them but no dramas yet.

I'd be happy to give ADI some business if the powers that be would let me ;)

FYI I think you'll find all manufacturers do that these days, they just polish the brass clean again after so it's more presentable.

Someone buys a back of brass that hasn't been polished...

"Oh no! My brass is broken!"
