Hodgon Titewad

Post by mickb » 15 Jun 2019, 10:31 pm

Wondering if anyone has seen this on our shores? I'd like to get my hands on some as its the fastest burning powder for light cast loads in 45ACP. Anyone know whether any gunstores do grey imports of powders? I will ask Winchester Australia if they stock it on Monday. Failing that, worst case can they do a special order. They have in the past imported specialised ammo for me, I might get lucky. Any other info in the meantime appreciated.

I don't have my refs to hand on the phone, but Hodgdon are re-packagers: many of their powders are ADI ones re-packaged. Is titewad one? Or someone else's?

G'day cadet,
Titewad is not one of the ADI powders, it is made by St Marks Powder in Florida.

Thanks fellas, yes just asked ADI and they confirmed its not one of theirs. I swear ADI used to have a faster burning powder than even AS-30N( or clays as the US calls it). It still appears on some old burn rate charts( which I can't find right now). I think it was a pistol powder as in AP- something and was even faster than titewad, Extralite and the ultrafast burners. It musn't be made any longer as ADI said As-30 is their fastest.

Also just had confirmed by Winchester who brings in other Hodgon powders, 800X, CFE pistol etc they are discontinuing all Hodgon imports. So if you were into these, buy while you can.
