Mate I get ya BigRich, I am that bloke scavenging votes off of moron bogans primed to donkey vote at the polls, Ive spoken to tonnes of blokes and lasses and had them throw their vote to lib dems and SFFP lol, the stoners are an easy sell too, just tell them that LibDems are gonna legalise their weed if they get elected. lol

I have even taken a pack of smokes with me, some silly prick comes up scabbing for a smoke, I tell him/her that if they vote SFFP I will give them 3 smokes lol...

I'm sure there is some rule against it, but meh, I am not directly affiliated with any of them, and I am not employed by any party to encourage votes so its just me puttin my opinion out there

The stimulus spending in both GFC and now in Covid measures is not helping the future of anyone's kids, its doing the opposite.

see the only thing that actually helps the economy is raw income, this doesn't come from recycling the same $10 bucks between joe blo and joe bloggs this comes from bringing wealth in from outside the system within. So whilst many short sightedly champion the spending by government (very socialist of them) those looking ahead lament the endless debt they have plunged us into without so much as a referendum. Now you might argue they're elected to make that decision, but in essence they leave politics at the end of their little stay and receive CEO level pensions whilst the rest of us continue to fund them and all their mistakes, lies and corruption. That's Grafs, other vendors vary but typical hazmat fee is $30. Keep in mind this is only for shipping online and is only for powder and primers, not ammo. You don't pay any fees directly buying in person.

John says we pay less here but I am sure there are bureaucratic and shipping costs that may vary by country. Typically we pay at retail $22-$30 US$ a pound for powder. Brands like Vihtavouri run higher at about $35-$40 US$ a pound.

Yeh we can't order on line. And the Dangerous Goods transport fees are included as part of the cost.

So $60 Us would be typical for 1lb delivered. $30 over the counter.
Not certain but I think at the moment about $60Au for 500g here.

So to consumer its cheaper in US over the counter.

1 lb = 453.6g

have fun passing ya single $10 note around in a circle jerk kidding yourselves that between ten of you somehow made $100......

there really shouldn't be tax cuts, Aside from agriculture and mining, what are Australians even doing to earn money??? no retail is adding anything, hospitality isn't either, and even the local construction sector does diddly squat. our tourism income is offset more so by the amount of Australians spending money on tourism elsewhere. the only way to increase the wealth of the Australian people, and therefore make things more value for dollar is to increase export, but we only export s**t from under the ground or growing/grazing the ground, Australian cities are massive sink holes in our very fiscal existence. Unless you are manufacturing something that gets exported, you are doing Zilch for the economy.

Our economy is debt based, it relies on interest paid on borrowed money, money that's created out of thin air. It also relies on population growth.
Without population growth and debt the fiat system doesn't work.
Government spending repayments are paid by a larger population in the future. Its a vicious cycle that drives the government to push for population growth. Well be stuck in that cycle until something forces a chance.

Let it. Personally I reckon it'd be pretty interesting having everything go to absolute hell. Take the lot. Hell, I'll gouge out someone's eye with a teaspoon and feast on the remains if thats what it takes. Plus the usual knowledge/aggression/finesse balance thrown into the mix.

The real problem is that most people, in the words of good old Morpheus, are hopelessly dependant on the system. They need it to give them a yardstick, a definable cash value for their efforts to tell them that they're doing 'well'. They can't grow food, make shelter or defend themselves against any threat (imagined, real, verbal or otherwise) but keep on slaving away hoping for more. Because that's all there is in a system like this for people who don't have the insight (or will) to see it.

Let the good times roll, gents. Here's to the misery of others. *clink*

Soo, I had the opportunity to chat with an old colleague today and asked the question regarding ADI powder shortage.
Likely reason is an incident about 1 year ago.

The line involved will likely be out of action for some time yet.

Edited as info was wrong.

Mate that was 7 years ago. I think that it would all be cleaned up and restored since then. We have certainly not had shortages since 2014 due to this. I am still able to get most things here in Aus the US seems to have a big problem according to posts on US forums. They have lots of other problems as well though many interconnected and self inflicted. A bit like our great toilet paper shortage of 2020

It is odd that ADI powder is mostly out of stock all over Australia, with the extra demand in the US is is most likely that their stocks have gone there, hart to say when they will be available here again but it clearly shows which customers are most important to ADI. (the ones that pay the most if anyone's not sure).

Ammo supplies coming from the US are getting harder to find, especially CCI, more and more products are just gone with no ETA for their return.

In the US itself the problem could go on for years, the hoarding mentality has fully set in now, people will buy up all the ammo that they see for sale at 'normal' prices, until they have a lifetime supply or more if they can afford it. The Democrat's policies will only make this worse but their proposed banning of online ammo sales will certainly be a well deserved slap down for all the price gouging web sites.

The powder isn't over here. Distributors are not getting in great quantities or any at all of powder. I know one of the wholesalers in my state is pretty much out of everything and isn't getting anything in right now. I think like primers, powder is being diverted to factory ammo production.

They haven't managed to answer the pertinent questions, why is there a massive shortage of ADI power in Australian dealerships?
And
If the US market isn't prioritised and the shelves are empty here in Australia where is all the powder going....Australian Defence Force, Europe, Afghanistan, Russia, China, Nauru?

Finding it difficult to get AR2208 at present. Available in Brisvegas, 4kg for a great price however no such luck when you live regional. Seems to be a few other powders on the shelf so looks a bit better than the grim outlook a few ago. Hoping things keep improving.

+1 I buy up stuff when it’s discounted all the time. Makes shooting cheaper in the long run. Depends how much shooting you do as well. Which brings me to a question, does powder get “stale” or go off that it can affect your loads ?

[/quote]

Blackpowder will last indefinitely. Have heard of loads being good after almost a century and 50 years is no sweat.
Smokeless will deteriorate. If you have smokeless that is getting a reddish dust or looks rusty use it as fertiliser.
Otherwise should be good. Or so they say.
Lets face who hasn't used x mil that was decades old at some point?
One well placed shot is all it takes.

If powder stored correctly mate it will last for ages. I have used some of my Dads powder that is decades old with no noticeable decrease in performance. Anyone have any differing experiences?

I'm still using AS50N I bought about 30 years ago for the 12g. Also using it in the 223.

There are guys here in the USA still using surplus powder from post World War 2 and works just fine. Some of it might come down to the powder itself and what the composition is, maybe some are more prone to degrade than others. A big thing with powder from what I understand is store in stable conditions and keep it dry.

Right now I'm shooting 7.62 NATO from 1975 and Swiss 7.5 from 1981, shoots better than anything out there.

I also see in Handloader magazine, which is THE reloading magazine here in the USA and which can be found on just about any newsstand here, a lot of the guys in there doing articles are using powder from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s all the time, just about every issue.

I'd say if you buy to stock up and store it well, then you shouldn't have much to worry about.

If they're still using the same cans of powder they bought fifty-years ago, I'd be wondering if they actually have much if any reloading experience...maybe they bought it back then intending to start loading, but only actually started last year?

No these guys writing for Handloader, many of them are old timer gun writers that have been doing it for decades. I don't know if you've seen the magazine but some of the articles like the "Pet Loads" for an individual cartridge they will work up more than a hundred loads, so I think a lot of these guys have extensive collections of powder. I think they still use old powder for formulations that haven't changed that much over the decades.

Does Handloader magazine make it to the newsstands to Australia?
