Loved the 22/250. Kind of wished I had never sold it. Was only an old model 110 but still shot ok. Replaced with a .223, still have the 250 dies, maybe get one again one day.

Me too, Bloody hopeless that is. I have three covid guns now. A covid gun is a gun I bought during covid but have not yet hunted with Pretty sure I bought my 4570 because TT was contemplating one .... time to find a cheaper hobby, But the lure of the Australian bush is too strong

Yes I got prices for a 45/70 but none of what I wanted were available until next year so I guess that saved me as I do t really “need” one.

A howa varmint blued for a tad under 600 brand new I couldn’t say no , I was after a super flat trajectory for foxes and cats so I was looking at high speed 35 v max .....lots of testing ahead I think ....I also loaded up 70 grain flat base speers for pigs encountered in the process ...I really should get this rifle to the range while work is quiet

My very first howa I might add. Heard too many good things Regarding accuracy ....So it was an easy decision I love the hogue stock and very long Heavy fat barrell ....first time I take it for a walk I’m really going to notice it. Mostly I think it will b for shooting from the quad or sitting over waterholes in summer

Funny you should say that. I don’t have a Howa and was just checking them out. I think this could be my next purchase.

I had a Ruger American 22-250. I have put all sorts of ammo through it, both factory and reloads. probably 1000 rounds. Could not get the thing to hit within an inch of the same place twice. Did a swap for a Howa Varmit SS camo. Shot the same factory ammo (Remmington 55 grain PSP) , 5 shot group around the inch while running in the barrel. I'm a convert! :)

not hanging it on the ruger american, l have seen them shoot very well in the past myself but in the case of the howa if you are happy with it now get a match grade barrel fitted properly onto it and see how happy you will be with it
but l am saying fitted properly :drinks: and what a varmint should be shooting is under 1/2 moa ;)

Just started reloading for the Howa. Found a sweet spot for it using 2208. Now to reload in 0.1 grains and work my way around till it is satisfactory. Only using the Remington factory ammo as they were on special at the Lgs for the same price as un-primed brass, ($218 fro 200 cartridges or $210 for 200 rounds of unprimed brass).
With the Ruger, I tried 50, 55, and 65 gn projectiles along with both BM2 and 2208, sadly, with no results.
