Crimp after neck expanding

Post by Heathen » 12 Oct 2020, 11:55 am

Planning on loading up some cast lead projs for my 8x56R.
I was going to expand the neck with my Lee universal expanding die as to not shave the proj.
Do I need to crimp to after seating proj?

All I know is that I don't crimp my .243. When I stared reloading it a while back I was using ADI powder and needed to ask them a technical point on the powder to be used. Just as a side question I checked re crimping. The reply was no need to crimp. Not sure about the 8 x 56R, a cartridge that has been around since 1930's ( I think)

Yes, although it may fit your chamber un-crimped.

Absolutely, crimp it back to the way it was, at least.
At what point does lack of maintenance become patina?
