That is my guesstimate.
1000fps will bowl over just about anything. A 525gn pill packs a huge punch even at low velocity.
Compare it to being hit with a brick versus a tennis ball. The penetration would be pretty phenomenal. Need to be pure lead to get any expansion though.

It takes 38grains of Trail Boss to the bottom of the shoulder.
For the curious here is a fresh batch of bullets with a loaded 500J with a few lesser calibres for comparison.
The others are 30-06, 45-70 and 7mm Rem Mag.
