Hi all,
Just wondering how much chamfer is 'the norm' on shell inner throat. Loading for 22-250 and Ive just started using the Lee Quick Trim Delux - does trim and chamfer - and it does not seem to put much of a chamfer on either the inside or outer edge compared to when Ive done it with the hand tool. There is some chamfer, but perhaps only <1/4 of the case wall thickness. As advised on the chamfering die, I've removed a small ball-bearing that puts pressure on the chamfer blades (needed mostly for .3 cal apparently).
So just wondering, how obvious and how much chamfer is needed? My understanding is that one of the main purposes of the chamfer is to help flat base projectiles seat in smoothly. Correct? Im loading mostly V-Max,so need a chamfer for those.
Hoping for some guidance.
Many thanks,
Paul
