Stainless steel media for tumbler

Post by Macross » 09 May 2021, 3:21 pm

Just ordered a tumbler as the crappy sonic cleaner i was using just wasnt cutting it. Ive been searching around for stainless steel media and seems to be either out of stock or crazy expensive from places here in australia. Can see it listed for sale on ebay and amazon but would prefer to order from supplier here in the country rather than over seas and wait weeks.

Anyone have a link to an Aus supplier or can point me in the right direction.

Imagine one of those little pins rattling down your barrel like pegging a hotdog down a hallway
At what point does lack of maintenance become patina?

I like to remove the pins from the cleaned cartridges before reloading.
It helps extend barrel life

If it is for pistol or straight walled cases, don't bother. They will clean fine on the outside by rubbing against each other in the tumbler.

I don't worry about shining the inside of the case or the primer pocket of pistol cases.

That's the stuff I use. IIRC, bought 10lb of it via eBay.
Choose you media wisely.
Too small and it sticks in the flash hole, too large and its a PITA to clear if it hangs up in the cartridge.
