my rifles Are howa and rem. This is only for 1200 FPS muck about ammo. Just trailboss. They are 175/180 grain coated Hawkesbury river. I measured the bullets they are perfectly spot on 311 ...calling, blade, in2 and any other random Sunday bored Individuals

Yep, I use .311" cast and copper-plated in .308" bores.
The only problem might be if your chamber is too tight to accept a cartridge with a .311" bullet seated in the neck. If that is the case you can try crimping them or run the bullets through a .310" sizing die first.

I've got a better idea, buy some 308 Hawkesbury to plink and buy a Mosin for the .311, works for me, Cheers.

Even copper-plated .311" don't work for me in 7.62x54R/.303.

Should be ok, but a good crimp would be a good idea. Either that or get a lee push through sizing die to .309 and run them through. If not, keep an eye out for leading. It is worse when bullets are undersized... not sure if it can get bad when they are oversized? Let us know how it goes!

I cast my own. Best to throw them over-size, then size them down if required. You can make sizing dies out of 7/8"-14tpi bolts, hone them out to the sizes you need.

Even .311" jacketed bullets work in .308, just work the load up as pressure may be a little higher.
