Reloading 38 super with ar2205

G'day all. Given the current powder shortages has anyone tried making up a 38 super major load with ar2205 or is it going to be too bulky/slow to work well?

G'day Danny,
2205 will never make Major, we tried it in 38 Special and 357 Mag with lots of flash, smoke, unburnt powder and poor consistency. Only in the 357 with 160g+ projectiles did we get any sort of acceptable results and even then velocity was poor. It will work OK in rifle length barrels, I still prefer it for 310 Cadet and 32-20 but in handguns it is "meh" at best. Also consider that ADI have stated the they will not make any 2205 this year so current stocks is all there is, you may go through all the fuss to get a Minor load that works only for powder stocks to dry up, Cheers.

I was thinking that might be the case. Was hoping someone had made it work and could buy up a heap of it before it sells out.
