Any good tips or loads you can share?

Not BM1. I use 8208 with that projectile.

Mate I tried this a few years ago and asked on here about BM1 and 55gn projectiles. I found an old ADI book with data in it for 55gn and BM1. I didn’t have huge success however intend on revisiting it again shortly.

Thanks mate, yes I have read that thread. I was just wondering if anyone had done any further testing.
I tested 23.5 gr yesterday and got 3 three shot 1/2” groups with an average velocity of 3060fps. But it’s only a small sample. I need to do some more testing, but just wondering if others had any results to share.

I used to used bm1 with 55gr nosler ballistic tips, can't remember what charge I used to the, was a while ago. The load was excellent out of my 700 VSF. 0.5 Moa with that particular combination. All I know is that I got lucky, i didn't even know what laid development was at the time!

I finally had a chance to further test BM1 with 55 grain Sierra today.
Very very pleased with the result.
25 grains gives me 3280 FPS and consistent .75” groups.
30 shots tested with a six power scope.
25 grains is above max with the 52 grain bullet in the ADI manual. No signs of pressure in my rifle and extraction was smooth.

Yeah don't worry about it being over listed maximum they all use universal receivers and test barrels benchmark one is slightly slower than ar2207 you should be good if you're not chasing top velocity if you really want to get them humping 8208 is fairly good I get just under 3400 feet per second and neck size and load a case more than 10 times with no head space problems .

It was a bit windy this morning, blowing in different directions on and off.
I have a spare test scope a sometimes swap on various barrels that has more magnication. I would like to pick a calmer day and give it another go.
I am not worried about anymore speed.

I do my testing at night especially for my long-range stuff I use a Wurth work light amazing the amount of light it puts out on target https://images.app.goo.gl/q3ziWkrfXV4hSZ1G8 that way you get dead still conditions with no woft

It's something I've thought about doing with .22LR, but a bunch of high-velocity centrefire at night would definitely annoy the neighborhood :-)

I have a few Sierra at home, might be time to revisit the BM1 trials as I eluded to in any earlier post.

Yes very lucky I have several places to virtually do whatever I want don't even have to call them to let them know I'm going but I worked for all these people over 30 years got to know them all very well I treat them like family and I treat their properties like they are my own and they respect that and I respect them .
Over the years I have pulled calving at 3 or 4 in the morning got sheep back on their feet all sorts of things lost count of the amount of times I have fixed boundary fences because of arseholes shooting from the road and hitting the wires .
