$900. How do they sleep?

Maybe it's a fat finger mistake and the poor devil just wanted $90 bucks lol

Those S&B primers are clean-burning there even cleaner than federal and that's saying something

Are you saying they don't leave much ash in your primer pocket?

$170 per 1000!!!

They are taking the pi55. Name brand primers (Federal, Remington etc.) were $57 per 1000 when I bought them pre-covid. There is no way they should be more than three times that today. Someone is ripping us off.

220$ for 500 !

note to myself: never ever buy projectiles anywhere else than on Cleavers' specials

Speer on specials too
225$ / 500 for a 6.5 140gn
175$ / 500 for 308 130gn

Yeah too late for me I commited the terrible mistake of buying equivalent projectiles on SSAA lol.

I wonder whether those desperate attempts at discounting the price of projectiles are driven by the fact that handloaders are reluctant to buy more projectiles, because they can't find rifles primers anyway.

I mean, this is totally my situation, I have 2.5x more projectiles than primers (and enough primers for years of shooting lol), so I have decided not to buy a single additional projectiles until I can find an equivalent amount of primers at a reasonnable price when the shortage ends in 202X.

Btw, never had a problem with stock for items on special.
When they create a new special, it's because they know they have it or will have it.

I have enough for x years of shooting, surely by then someone will manage to get primers into Australia...

I mean, there was a batch of Fiocchi in October last year in the NSW/ACT gunshops, I got 3,000 for 300$ from Magnum, 10 cents each, that was reasonable.
All that is required is a few shipments, and prices will plunge back to reasonable levels.

I predicted some time back that shooting in Australia will become a rich mans sport and got put down . How is it all progressing now ? Certainly getting a lot more expensive . The trouble with inflation is even if the inflation rate goes down the higher prices seem to stay while the economy is good . We will need a recession ( depression ) to bring prices back down . Hopefully after the Ukraine war is over and NATO stops rearming there might be an increase in supply and prices might go down , might .

I have only bought 1 item from xhunter. Seemed ok.
You do need to be a member ($25) to get these prices. But still bloody cheap if you want to just dip your toe in the water or don't intend loading heaps.
Do the research but one review I read said the press worked fine. Obviously you need a few more bits and pieces.

Yep, seems to get a variety of reviews/comments. Some critical, some say they are fine.

Made in India or China I guess.

That press looks like a copy of a Lee press . Might be fine for smaller cartridges and lighter sizing operations . If you separate the sizing into a two die operation with a body die and neck die only sizer it takes a lot of load off the press .

90% are same, same. It is far from technical, making a press. And the pressure required to FLS is SFA compared to mass production. They say they are cast steel. I've seen 308 FLS on one of the cheapest Lee C style presses. (Breech lock)
If they are aligned fairly close they will do the job.

At the 4 minute mark he FLS a 30.06 case with the cheapest press on the market a Lee Breeck lock. Lol
Gee, we need super strong $500 presses don't we. Lol.

Lots of "hype" out there.

I bet it works just like an expensive Foster until it doesn't. The presses really dont need to be strong the way they are built gives them and incredible force due to leverage and it is all on a very small area which also increases the pressure.

You'll be waiting maybe a decade, The Nazi's have only managed to stop the Orcs and Id expect this to run another 6-8 yrs

With the concentration of power in NIOA's hands we'll just have to keep buying our stuff off Cleavers.

The Smart reloader stuff is the worst quality I've ever seen, I wouldnt touch the stuff with a barge pole esp if you want to roll accurate ammo

It's not the overall strength of the press so much it's the wear potential on the pins and bearing areas . Taking some load off makes the press stay tighter and last longer . I don't think anyone should expect quality engineering for $30 .

Press leverage is about 10 to 1.
Soo,,assuming you push down 5kg ( being generous here) when sizing the pressure at top of ram is only 50kg. I think that speaks for its self. So does the Lee video.

Majority of presses are over engineered.
