444 Marlin and AR2206H/H4895

Hello

If its any help to anyone thought id post.

444 Marlin did some load testing. Its a Remlin with 22" barrel 1:20 twist.

Brass: starline
PRIMER: winchester
Powder 2207
Bullet: 240g XTP

46 grains - 2421-2461fps

1.5" group

Brass starline
Powder: 2206H
Bullet: xtp 300g
Primer: winchester

49grains - 1987, 1967, 1984, 1981 - 1.5 inch at 100m

50grains - 2065, 2055, 2049, 2038 - 1 inch group 100m.

Hope it helps someone. Work up carefully. In manual still well under pressure.

That's outstanding accuracy with both XTP's.

Sounds like those Remlins aren't all bad. You've got a good one! Was this with a scope? There's a video on youtube of a guy with a 20" .357 mag Henry with scope whose best groups at 100 yards (or metres, I can't remember) are under 2 inches. Amazing.

Yes they are good groups. The gun was on a rest this is obviously not me, rest back and front. Scope is a Vortex scout 2-7x. Was one of the final remlins that arrived to australia.

When we tested the group at 50m, the holes were all cutting into each other.

I should mention the group was a 3 shot group - the first shot was on another target while sighting then took 3 at the target on left. I didnt realise it was so outstanding - i would have taken a photo!

Maybe I will head down again and take a pic this time to post up. Anyway - just was so impressed with the velocity and low pressure achieved with 2206H. with 48grains th ere was powder kernels all along the chamber.
