I cant find the original bargains thread so start again.

Cleaver currently have these on special. Sound cheap to me.

Powder thrower $39.
I can vouch the throwers are very consistant.

I think i paid $45 for my thrower about 5 years ago. So, its a vety good price. NFI what postage will be.

Saw a youtube video once of a bloke FLS 308 on their cheap C press without lube. Lol Didnt break it!

This lee press is excellent value. The dies are setup to bump against the shell holder and it I can make very, very consistent reloads. My average deviation is no more than 0.0005. The trick is forget the index pin (pull it out.) and just tighten the dies hard against the mating flat on top. The problem people have with this is they don't bump the shell holder into the die (This includes the bullet seater.) Don't rely on the press caming action to seat your bullets, rely on the bump/stop of the shell holder into the die.

The best thing I find to do for saving money with reloading is signing up for all the emails from all the vendors, especially the big ones you can order from online. And pretty much I lay in wait for sales, deals and bulk sales to happen and then spring into action.

Lee I find is excellent, innovative, frustrating or cheap. It's very hit and miss. You take the Lee APP for instance. I have a few videos on it on my Youtube channel, one almost has 20K views. It's a great idea, a rapid fire semi automated single stage press. You can swage, decap, size, expand, etc thousands of pieces of brass about as fast as you can pull the handle. However they just went a little cheap on some of the parts, so sometimes it can be a little frustrating getting it going or dialed in.

I have done 1000s of rounds on the same press without any issues re wear on the press. The rounds were all very high spec tolerances for F class. There is no cam over on the Lee presses which I think is feature that can be done without. I am also a believer in push the shell holder to the die with a good slow and smooth force. The best accessory for the press is a set of Redding competition shell holders. These have different heights allowing more precise forming of your cases.

I've been considering a thrower, been doing a lot of testing, and need something faster than hand (joke there somewhere).

Dont think your going to get anything faster than the thrower. The really good accurate systems like say a trickler with A&D scales are much slower but weigh down to the kernel accurately.

I have a Lee thrower. It was cheap IIRC about $45 a few years ago. Once its set and you get a rhythm, very accurate. IIRC about 0.2gr variation.
I check each load with scales and trickle up. But you don't really need to.

Need scales to check it of course.

I purchased the powder thrower. It works. to a point. finer powders ok, coarser powders ok. But, by the time I've set it up, filled it, set the metering screw. to the closest to what i want, set up the powder trickler, (gonna need it), I've already hand measured 20 rounds. I can hand measure at 3 times the rate. I think I will persist with the hand measuring until I'm rich and famous and can get value for money electronic gear. It aint that I'm picky....yeah I am a bit.

I don't know about "new" but I like the primer dump, that's a little cleaner than the square funnel on the side of the press currently.

I have a Dillon 450B, Dillon 550C, Dillon XL750, Lee Loadmaster and a Lee Classic Cast turret press.

Of all of these, I use the Lee Classic Cast Turret press, with the excellent Lee Auto Disk measure, the most. Calibre changes can be done in seconds - including changing primer size and powder weight.

FYI - the Lee Loadmaster is phenomenally fast - faster that my Dillon XL750., The Lee Case feeder is genius design and has now been copied by many other manufacturers..

Prices fluctuate and thats just a fact of life so if you see a bargain sometimes things arent what they seem anyway .
We all remember prices of bygone days .
Before supermarkets too The grocer shops and they sold everything within reason . And I remember clearly 1957 in the emporium . then supermarkets were coming on the scene for better or worse . West of the city then the local grocers shop sold groceries and some rifles ammunition fishing gear but sadly little towns got by passed Until today one can whizz past so many little places now just a mark on the map. Many of these little names on the map hold so many stories of our past . Some very good yarns out of the hard times .
Today well enough said we have dicks running the show . Hahahaha Dicks by name and dicks by nature. Insurance companies crack the whip and big carriers wont carry dangerous goods . A la ammunition primers powder . primed cases . and no doubt you can all add to the list .
They call this progress !!! and people who were part of the backbone of the country cant buy guns and munitions partly because they cant fill in the complex paperwork..YET city slickers who can handle paperwork are able to have handguns at home plus oodles of ammo multiple rifles that have no use in a city . Welcome to2024. Where parts of the country are over run with increasing numbers of wild pigs destroying valuable cropping land and orchards , Where if u want to acquire a rifle to shoot the vermin then you navigate as best u can. Then on the other hand those in well paid jobs can buy pretty much what they like if ur member of sporting shooters ..
And of course historical shooters like me have come lately neighbours trying to stop me sighting in rifles . And of course women who get so vocal saying you have frightened all the neighbour hood pets.. What a joke !! I was living here 20 years before these blow ins from city and nearby overseas countries . 2days in a year and i get nasty letters in my mailbox .
Welcome to 2024 where overseas greenies get too much say in our affairs And successfully rape the way of life we had far away from the cities . The kangaroo industry hit hard by many having scant knowledge of the harsh realities of our seasons . Kangaroo culling with a shot to the brain is not a cruel way to go and then the carcass and skin has value . Not so long ago it supported quite a few families and towns .
Enter greenies who only want to be known as famous and they have too much political influence . The industry is a shell of what it once was . Culling and making use of a natural resource is commonsense . Graziers and large companies if they cant cull then resort to their methods of starvation and turning off waters .Many know that they have big drives to round up and slaughter without paying attention to how its done. In effect they dont manage or cull numbers but exterminate .
Thank all the greenies and city dwellers plus overseas do gooders who stick their noses into Australian business

But rest assured nothing is going to improve . Iam told USA banned australian kangaroo products . about 12 months ago. Australia managed by overseas politics .
