Get a load of this. Was loaded with a cast bullet. Purchased as a once fired cases.

I think they need annealing. :D

Are you sure the ejector mark wasn't there before you loaded it?
What happened to the neck, did that get smashed during ejection?

OK. Was loaded perhaps 3 years ago, fired about 12 months ago. Obviously was not loaded like that and not noticed when ejected by my mate who fired them.

I just thought it interesting i havnt seen that before. There is still about 60 to fire when im in the mood.

If i have time i will post a better pic from another angle tomorrow.

Dont know about the ejector mark but its a very mild cast bullet load.

There is an effect, which I can't remember the name of at the moment, where very clean metals that have an affinity for alloying will tend to fuse together when in contact. More so if they are under pressure such as a projectile held in a case mouth.
Judging by your picture of the piece of neck missing from your case then that could have happened. That's not to say that there may not have been some incipient defect in the case that contributed to the failure.

BTW, ejector mark is very faint.
