303-22 load data

Post by 6878mm » 01 Dec 2023, 9:44 am

Does anyone have any load data using ADI powders for this caliber
I KNOW there are several variants of it , I KNOW
I am notsure what oneit is, I am in the process of dertimining what it is
Any data to start will be appreciated
The only inf. that Ihave been abletofind is an old Nick Harvey data,it`s 32gr of 2208 for a 55gr projectile
I willprobably go with that, butI would at least like to know what else there is

G'day mate, until you know what version you have it is going to be impossible to suggest data, I would recommend you start with Sprinter data until you are certain you have a Falcon, and not one of the many "one off" gunsmith specials.

We really need to know what the cartridge is, which powders you want to use, and which bullets.
But I would use AR2206H, start around 30gn or so behind 55gn bullets and work up or down until you find what you want.

Here is some additional info from a 70's version of Reloading Simplified by Cyril Waterworth.
You might have to do an internet search of burning rate tables to establish equivalent modern powders.
As for the various names applied to a 22/303 I believe the only real issue is whether your case is simply a full length 303 necked down to 22 or a shortened case.

Agree. AR2206H is the GOTO.

Been 30 yrs since I loaded for 30322. Just looking though the data and speeds I always knew it does not match 22250 performance but it’s certainly up there. I guess in history it may have been chosen as a roo gun.
