Bullet weight substitution

Can’t find data for 230 jacketed with 2207 in my 450 bushmaster . Adi says 42.8 max of 2207 with a 300 jacketed. So I am fine to use a 230 jacket pill instead ? With 42.8 of 2207 ? I can’t see a problem. Can u ?

It might have a low pressure problem as in not burning all the power I would be upping the load and working back .

Trouble is you don't know how much to go up in the first place so it's not a good idea to up the load first and work back . Start at the 42.8 and work up a bit . If 42.8 is max for a 300 grain bullet it may be a nice load for a 230 grain as is . You don't want max loads anyway .

It's called hand loading not reloading and if the Confidence isn't there it should not be attempted .
I am assuming he is a hand loader

I can't see where reloading got a mention?
Anyway, reloading and hand loading are IMO interchangeable. Both are used in the industry and hobby to describe same process/hobby.

Extrapolate from the data points you do have, but yes, I can't see any issue with that load. You may want to work it up higher if you're chasing velocity. The 230gn bullet will likely be shorter than their 300gn bullet so you could try seating the bullet deeper to reduce the empty case volume and increase pressure.
