Post by newgunner » 31 Aug 2014, 3:02 pm

hi guys/gals,
i am reloading 9mm ammo for the first time ,just want to see if anyone has any load reccomendations

using the following

adi ap50n powder

125gr lcn molly coated projectiles

federal/geco brass

remington primers

i have tried 2.9 grains of powder ,went ok but sounded a bit weak compared to geco factory ammo
also tried 3.6 grains of powder
adi says max o f 3.2 grains for this projectile, how safe is it to go .2-.3 grains over this?

CZ SP01 shadow is my 9mm pistol

thanks all advice welcome

I load 3.2 grains AP50 behind a 125 grain projectile for my Glock. I was loading 3.6 but found it a little snappy and it shot high (couldn't adjust the sights further) but it wasn't unsafe, didn't give me any pressure signs

ADI say 3.3gns for a reason. They don't use the primer sign method but actually read the pressure generated in the chamber. There is informative info from I think either ADI or SAAMI that if u see primer signs u have gone way over safe limits. It's your call but if your pistol fails only blame yourself. I'm using 3.2-3.3gns (COL 1.123") and that's plenty of very accurate punch for my HK Expert and my mates SP01 Shadow. One day when the pigs fly home going to play with AP70
