magic sub moa after working up load

Post by barrafishing0 » 14 Sep 2014, 8:47 pm

Hi yelp and others who helped me find coal and help with working up a load.

Today I worked through 9 different loads with .25 gn increments for my steyr scout 308. Some groups were good for my ability. Some showed a bit wayward but there was a pattern. In and out of node and in the middle a fantastic 16 mm sub moa 3 shot group at 100m. Wow

Tried to upload photo but couldn't. (Photo added for you here -Monty)

I wouldn't be beating yourself up over shooting skills if you're shooting 16mm groups ;)

the question is, are you able to replicate that accuracy?

That's a great group no doubt, but if you can't consistently repeat those results on another day with another batch of the same ammo - you just got lucky.

Personally I suggest 4 or 5 shot groups for load testing.

You can't get lucky 5 times in a row and if you get a flyer you can still get an idea for the load and know you didn't just get 2 lucky shots with the others in the 3 shot group.

Bit off topic there, not knocking your shooting Barra. Keep it up :)
