That'll do it.

They're a good bullet, with an accurate load they'll serve well for what you want.

finally got around to testing these fella's. ended up with a pretty hot load (my rifle seems to love hot loads!). 46.5gn.
i know its a hunting projectile, but compared to my "custom comp" target projectile's, the SST is a little loose.
if my CC does 1/2 MOA, this does between 1/2 and 3/4 moa . not a big deal for a hunting projectile, but i expected more for the price.
i'll stick with it for the remaining 30 rounds and see what pigs and other ferrals i can pull down.
happy hunting ya'll !!!!!

Focusing on the wrong thing there a bit mate.

Don't forget, you're paying for it's performance (damage) on the animal, not hair splitting accuracy. As you said 1/2 to 3/4 MOA is very respectable accuracy for a hunting rifle.

See how it goes on some of those ferals then make your mind up ;)

yeah i get that, but for the ferrals i'm shooting my target rounds would stop them doa. i was just hoping for something a little tighter with the added expansion of a hunting round.

As you may have seen there are a couple of us using 165gn Hornady's in our 308's I'm using the Interlock and have had great results with it. If you can get some 2208 at some time I think you'll like it, but in the meantime 2206H is OK.

Never tried them on game but they were always the most accurate match bullet in my Ruger.

actually i haven't tried them on game either. i use cc for paper and am starting with the SST's for hunt. but... given the size of small size of the ferrals in my cross hairs, i have no doubt that the cc would doa them

42.6gn 2208 1/2 MOA @100M 5 round group using tikka ctr 20” barrel for a hunting round outstanding! damage on a pig 312m ranged was soild, hit just behind shoulder he only took bout 10 steps and dropped great hunting round be deadly on a deer definitely recommend

any more sst feedback ? loading these in 6.5x55, very accurate. trying to get time to get out and about.haven't had a chance to use them on a hunt yet. thinking a ruger gunsite in 308 with sst's would make a fine scrub gun. any opinions ?

I’ve used the 150gr SST in my 20” 308 CTR, 46gr of 2208 Gets me 2800fps and average of 0.5MOA accuracy.

So far I’ve taken 3 fallow, a couple of goats and a pig. Every shot has gone out the other side aiming for the heart/lungs broadside.

Internal damage has been severe and the exit holes have been double the size of the entry so expansion hasn’t been an issue. Distance for the shots has been 30m out to around 200m

thanks for the feedback . i was going to run with nosler partitions but accuracy is better with sst's. was a bit worried the sst's might blow up too quick on pigs .i'll stick with them. i'm loading 140's in 6.5x55

I’d heard the same issue of them blowing up, running at what I consider moderate of 2800fps for a 308 I’m still yet to recover a projectile. Let me know what they look like if you get one back. I’ve just finished developing loads for 130/150gr Barnes TTSX for something a bit different as well.
