The go-to for a significant amount of hunters I'd say. More so new ones who are buying first he first time, they'll all have heard/been told about BT and go looking for them.
Easy to imagine it's costing them business by not providing one. Lots going to Nosler, Hornady etc. instead.
It's an age old problem in business.
Even if you make the best product available , if many others are making something else and controlling a much wider and increasing share of the market they eventually force you to change your product to gain some of those sales even if that means making a lesser quality or different product that appeals to that new market.
A bit like Kodak invented the digital process but it's out of step management failed to bring it to the market quickly enough and others stepped in and took the sales . Kodak cameras eventually went broke .
IBM failed to see the potential of DOS and sold the rights to Bill Gates and Paul Allen for peanuts . They took it and it eventually turned into Microsoft corp.
So Sierra is just as you say, in the same boat , they have to compete in the same market or loose business even if they don't want to .
