Bullseye Powder

Post by Baldrick314 » 15 Aug 2015, 3:56 pm

I've heard rumblings locally that Bullseye powder is being discontinued, anyone know if this is true or not? I've got a good load for my 357 using Bullseye and don't wanna switch if I don't have to.

Local dealers have told me they can't get it currently but they're making it sound like it's just out of stock not gone forever.

Thanks for any info

I don't know about Bullseye being discontinued, but the problem with powder in general, and particularly pistol powders, is getting the stuff out of the US. Winchester Australia do not expect a shipment until at least the end of this year, and I understand Alliant is in a similar position.
What is going on with ADI is anyone's guess. They have been extremely economical with the truth for at least a year and a half. The latest rumour is that AP50 is no more...

That'd be about bloody right, that's my 9mm powder! Good thing I've got 2kg.

Thanks for the info mate

I really wish that ADI or their distributors would come clean with the future supply.

I've been told that AP70 won't be made as the machine caught fire and it was too expensive to repair.

Then got told that someone near Newcastle (NSW) was looking at manufacturing ADI powder "under licence" and the full range would be available. That didn't happen.

Then I get told that AP will be called APS as it can also be used to reload shotgun?

As I say, a statement from Thales would be handy.....

Is that still the case?

I know they had distributor dramas for ages but I thought that was sorted a month or two again and things were meant to be flowing again now?

Does anyone have an update on this? It seems as though Bullseye powder is still not available through stores, and I can't seem to find any information using google (except for here) that there's even a problem. (Although maybe that means my google-fu isn't that great)...

What are people using as an alternative at the moment?

Seems to be plenty of AP70 & AP100 around in Sydney at the moment, not sure about AP50 as I don't use it.
How's my posting?

I still haven't seen it in stores, I did buy some off a bloke who was swapping to AS30 because it has an almost identical burn rate but is cleaner than bullseye. Should be easier to source than bullseye being made locally.

Thanks for the tip @Baldrick314. I'll check out AS30 and see if it will work with what I need.
