38-55 win to .375 win

Post by Mick280 » 22 Dec 2015, 3:49 pm

Can any of you fellow forum members ( Reloading Gurus) see any problems with trimming 38-55 cases back a wee bit and using them in my .375 win.
.375 brass has become impossible to get hold of!!!
Thanks
Mick.

Externally they are alike apart from the Case length....
The pressure rating of the 375 is however almost 2x the old school 38; I would therefore suggest the thickness of brass may be an issue/maybe not;

Thanks mate!
They were my thoughts as well.
I run the calipers over a couple of new cases I have and the only differences I found being the 38-55 is 1.60 mm longer and the .375 being 0.21 mm wider at the collar.
Can't See any difference in the wall thickness of the cases though!!

i just looked on my phone and typed 375 win into their search function.

Dammit... that was on my phone. Just checked on the PC and it was 255gn bullets that came up.... sorry.

Maybe you should contact the website admin and ask about 375 brass.

Sorry for the bum steer.
