Reloading cost calculator for Excel

Post by Hollywood » 06 Jun 2016, 11:43 pm

Knocked up a little Excel reloading calculator. Just enter the quantity and cost of the consumables and it works out the per round and per 50 round cost. Just enter the relevant numbers, don't type 'grams' or 'grains'.

Here's a link to my Dropbox folder where you can download it if you feel so inclined - https://www.dropbox.com/s/qx02amlb5at330p/Reloading%20calculator.xlsx?dl=0

Cheers,

Dan.

These figures are for my 9mm reloading.

The formula converts the powder charge you enter in 'grains' into 'grams' in order to calculate how many rounds you'll get out of the container, which is entered in 'grams'.

I might add an option where you can enter metric or imperial weights for the powder packaging as the US packaging will be in Lbs.

I can't knock your work, I certainly couldn't do that without some training that's why I'll say ... Give me pen and paper, I'll have cost per round solved before the computers fired up.

But that's just me, most people probably couldn't find a pen that works before the computer is fired up.

I've added an option where you can select the unit of measurement for the powder from a dropdown box. You can enter kilograms, grams or pounds.

The link is the same - https://www.dropbox.com/s/qx02amlb5at33 ... .xlsx?dl=0

And in case you're wondering how it calculates the end result, here's the formula!

=IF(C8>0,IF(C3>0,(E3/C3),0)+IF(C4>0,(E4/C4),0)+IF(C5>0,(E5/C5),0)+IF(B6="grams",(E6/(C6/(C8*0.0647989))),0)+IF(B6="kilograms",(E6/(C6/(C8*0.0000647989))),0)+IF(B6="pounds",(E6/(C6/(C8*0.000142857))),0),0)

No worries at all, my Excel abilities were born out of necessity, basically figured it out through trial and error!

You clearly (Excel,ed), when faced with the presence of necessity and trial and error.. You could make some serious coin from that trait mate....

It might help you convince the missus that you're losing money if you DON'T buy some reloading gear!
