Post by auriga3 » 10 Jun 2016, 3:39 pm

I have some undersize minimum length .303 cases,i think that i read somewhere that they can be used when loading lead bullets as length is not important in this situation.Min length for .303 is2.02in,the cases measure 2.177in. making them 0.025 in.under min size Can anyone advise me on this please? Thanks

G'day auriga3,
Personally I wouldn't worry too much about .025" in a rimmed case. Effectively this adds .025" to the throat, and providing you are not at max pressure in a target grade barrel would not have an adverse affect on throat erosion over a few hundred rounds. Just load them up and use them, Cheers.

Its not a 'minimum' case size, but a 'maximum', and its 2.22inch

Its a max because the chamber has a corresponding minimum size, that way the rounds are (hopefully) guaranteed to fit...

Minimum chamber is the same dimension 2.222inch, normally there some 'gap' but not in the case of the free-ow

Your cases being a whopping 1mm less than max ....should be ok ;)
