reloading 30/30

Post by wickedazza » 19 Sep 2016, 3:20 pm

hey all,

looking at getting some 150gr copper plated berrys bullets to reload for my marlin 336 30/30. i cant seem to find any information with regards to loading them with adi powders. i currently have 2208 as i use it for my 270. if anyone is loading these what powder are you using, or better yet if you are using 2208 what weight are you using??

thanks

The ADI manual lists Sierra 150gr flat nose (required for centerfires with a tube magazine) starting load AS2208 31gr to 34.5gr max.

If the projectiles you mention are copper jacketed 150gr I would just load a few up starting 30.5 gr working your way up to max in 0.5gr steps.

If they are cast that are copper plated/washed you need to look at cast data.

The loading data is a guide and it is not unusual that a perfect match often is not available.

What's the difference between copper plated and copper jacketed bullets?

edit - sorry didn't mean to hijack, started a dedicated topic instead (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6866)
