I reckon casting your own will be the way forward.
There's still a few of Wile. E Coyote's ideas that I haven't tried yet.

It would have to be easier, quicker and cheaper to cast them than to order them I reckon.
2kg of pure lead will give you 100 bullets in under an hour.
According to Wiki the 45-60 only runs about 1400fps, why do you want hardcast bullets?

G'Day fella's and thanks!!!
I'm looking around for them for a mate that has just bought himself a new Pedersoli.
I don't cast because I'm away at work 4 weeks out of 6 and just don't have the time.
I get all mine through Westcasting's,They have them on their product list but I've been in touch and they are not on their production list and it could be quite a while before they are.
Haven't been able to find anyone else in the country that has them!!

Doesn't a 45-60 run the same .458 projectiles as a 45-70? Surely they can't be too hard to source. I also heard that some of the modern repro 45-60's are designed to chamber trimmed 45-70 cases which have a slightly different rim than original 45-60 brass. Might be something to investigate.

That right mate,Same as 45-70,.458 - .459!!!
Can't find them anywhere in country.
We tried some loads out yesterday using some hrbc 350gn pills that he had made up with 24gns of 2207 and they were terrible,Some of them went in sideways!!!
I did some investigation last night and the heaviest pills that have been used in them are 330 Lymen cast.
These were only just suitable,The issue being the length of the projectile.
With the 45-60 being a slightly tapered case,The base of the projectile doesn't seal against the wall of the case!!!
All the literature I could find recommends the 300gn projectile.

Give John a call at centreway firearms
03 9336 4647

I will admit he is bloody hopeless at answering the phone because he is usually in the shop by himself.

He did have some HRBC 45-70 300gr copperhawkes last time I was there about a week ago
