New gadget for reloading

Got a present in the mail today. Saw it in the background of a YouTube video. Thought DAMN! I need one of those.

RCBS Trim Mate

It's an RCBS Trim mate. My hands are a bit knackered from my days on prawn trawlers. Doing the chamfering, deburring and primer pocket cleaning would get excruciatingly painful after 10 mins and I would have to stop. I would put my primer pocket cleaner in a battery drill but the process was still hard on my hands. I enjoy reloading but case prep was slow. This thing does it all, bloody brilliant.

I got this one from the states (Brownells us$109) so I had to get a 200w step down voltage transformer ($29 eBay)

Now I can prep all my cases without having to stop every 5 - 10 minutes

Time savings are not massive but ease of use is +500%. Pop the primer and neck size, pocket clean, deburr and chamfer on the prep centre then throw the case in the tumbler. If you are looking to make your life a bit easier I highly recommend this gadget.

You can also get various other tools like primer crimp removers. Been using it tonight to prep a bunch of .223 cases I had sitting around. Really does a good job. Very high torque in the motor, can press very hard without slowing the tools. Really glad I bought it.

I've been using one of these for a couple of years now. Main reason I got it is I have Carpal Tunnel problems in both hands and a Public Hospital waiting list, so manual de-burring and primer pocket cleaning of up to 500 cases at a time was very slow and painful. Besides, I like gadgets.

Nothing wrong or weird about enjoying, all thing firearms related.. IMO...

BTW.. I'm not saying I don't like the RCBS prep center though.. :)

I too enjoy reloading a little too much and have been thinking about one of these bad boys for a while. You kinda get over the blisters quickly lol

I use the Honardy Ultra Sonic Case Cleaner with built in heater.
Run it with the heater for 20mins with your cases in it
Removes carbon buildup from inside your brass and primer pockets too.
Throw the brass in tumbler and see the finished product you will be amazed what the brass feels like and looks after wiping the corn cobb dust of the brass.

I bought a Lyman case prep center and have never looked back. I do things in batches of hundreds so not only does it save time but it saves my hands. Worth the $100 I spent getting it onsale.
