Actually I lie. I am going to take a page out of Ben's book and make a rifle rack, so I can lean the girls against something if there are a few out... Weekend project! Then it will be the final stroke on that painting!

A parking rack is extremely useful when you get home from the range and they're waiting to be cleaned. The timber in this is Claret Ash sawn on my homemade sawmill and is left in the rough. Kind is matches the ancient rifles.

Here's my little reloading/fly tying nook.
In the corner of what I call my campaign (camping) room. It's got all out packs, hiking gear, fishing and shooting gear.

My wife just calls it the junk room! :problem:

An hour in cheapish wet tumbler from China...

Image

...and then on to the dehydrator... It makes jerky and dries ammo!

Decided, since I am not doing anything tomorrow, I am going to prep all my brass that needs work...

This is my loading room, Nothing really expensive just the basics, though just starting is right about the wet tumblers .Look at the 300BLK brass shinning , they are fresh out of the wet tumbler . Some of those cases were in poor condition as they were recovered outdoors after years of exposure and polished like new I was very impressed. You have to be cautious retrieving brass that has been in contact with soil for a length of time. if the brass has a copper color the zinc has been leached from the brass leaving the copper and rendering the brass possibly in an unfit condition.

I had one of those days today where I had every intention of making more money then I spent, apparently intentions mean squat when I walk into the gun shop. I dropped off 100 rounds of .375 Cheytac for a customer and how I do it with the shop is I supply ammo and they give me store credit which works really well for us both as no $$ changes hands. So with a few coins in credit I managed to walk out owing $5500...hmmmm. Picked up a couple boxes of 350gr SMK's for stock and another case of 750gr BMG AMAX's to add to the 2 cases already on my shelf. (I'm stockpiling 50BMG components due to the latest ITAR restrictions blocking exports with no word on if / when it'll be lifted.) Put my name on a Weatherby Mk V Accumark in 6.5-300 WBY Mag which is due late march and promises to be an awesome caliber.
Next couple months will be spent pointing, trimming, measuring, and sorting ready for loading and sale.

Below is 530,000 grains of projectiles :D

Projectile prep is just as critical as case prep when chasing consistency. I've done circumcision's before but I slipped and got the sack so don't do it anymore

According to Herron's the U.S State Department has re-introduced the ban on exporting 50BMG rifles and components. No more guns or ammo for a while which won't have much of an impact here as 50BMG shooters are very scarce and generally don't shoot much. I've got sufficient to meet my needs for a couple years so this ban won't have an immediate effect on my shooting.

Sounds like the arrangement works firmly in the shop's favour!

Oohhh... that sounds like it going to be one expensive sucker to run! How many spare barrels have you ordered for it?

Looking forward to a review of it, though. Those Mk Vs are nice!

First attempt at end-to-end casting... One of the little terror makers was with grandma today, so I had some time to get this done from start to finish.

Lube, elsewhere on the forum, thanks to Noise and OB. Also, the green crayons my kid used to draw on the coffee table (and the floor, and...). Well, he ain't going to be using them anymore.

I also did a trial run, before, a week or so. I wanted to test hardness levels for my own curiosity. Lead for control, wheel weights, and lead mixed with some additive that I got from someone, to mess around with hardness. All ended up around 15. I actually measured all of them over a week, assuming that WW and my own concoction will harden over time, but they all stayed on 15, which is good.

Now, I just need to shoot them :D

Nice job JS. I'd recommend you get a lead ladle like the one in my last pic above. You'll get a more consistent pour and fill in the mold, which in turn, gives a better quality of bullet. By the way, what are you using to seat your gas-checks?
