Wrong power cord on Hornady Tumbler?

Post by subatom » 17 Jul 2013, 1:42 pm

Just picked up a new brass tumbler from Hornady and it's got the wrong plug on it...

Called the store I bought it from and got told that's normal  and I need to buy an adapter.

Is that right? s**ty deal to buy one here and have the wrong power plug I reckon...

Yes that's normal for Hornady. *sigh*

Poor little Australia isn't worth making a correct powder cord for apparently.

Double check, but you should find it's a Euro power plug/unit which will work here. It should be 220v?

I'm sure you used to hearing that all out stuff is "240 volt". I forget the numbers exactly (so double check this before doing anything stupid and pluging the wrong thing in) but Australia's electrical system is actually 230 volt with a tolerance of -5% and +10% or something in that neighbourhood.

Appliances between 220v and 250v should work find here, you just need a plug adapter. Double check we're talking about the same thing, but that should be right.

Assuming we're talking about the same tumbler, it is. I have one of the Hornady tumblers which I had to get the adapter for as above...

The converters are bugger all. I have some for some cameras and stuff from Dick Smiths and I think they were $9 or something.

Thanks all. Not a big deal I guess but just a pain in the ass that we don't qualify as a proper country to the US apparently :?

Didn't you know? The USA makes up 99% of the world and the rest of us are just lucky to be nearby their greatness

My favourite is when a yank picks up someone on their British spelling and says they need to learn to speak American :D

They're not any better at accents either.

Somehow they thing the NZ and Aussie accent are the same...

I found the same thing with mine too.

It wouldn't have bothered me if I knew ahead of time. How difficult is it to stick a sticker on the box mentioning it

Was pissed off when I got home and found I couldn't use it, let me tell you...
