Hey everyone, which of these do you reckon would be safe to reload? I'm just starting out with some 'once fired' brass (the majority of it is great) and don't really know what is acceptable.

I've used a few that had dents etc in them, they pop out once fired, no.1 might have an issue chambering but only way to find out is see what happens, if it doesn't chamber easy toss it, lifes too short to be stuffing around with brass with issues.

Hmmm, you could probably pop them out with a low pressure load. Personally however, I would bin them. Dents like that stretch the brass, it probably wouldn't go back into shape properly.

Others may have a different opinion but I would certainly ditch them.

Most if not all the ones I fired with dents were fine after the firing, only one I had issues with was one that changed the shoulder shape and couldn't be resized and wouldn't chamber so that ended up in the bin as I couldn't do anything about it. Usually what I do is see if I can chamber them first, if not I normally just toss them but if they chamber alright I load em and shoot em and that usually sees the dents come out fine.

Pretty sure a lot of the brass from "once fired brass" or whatever they call themselves , come from the United States. So in all probability, yes, from an AR or similar rifle. Not a lot of pressure being generated in a .223, so as others have said, if it chambers ok, should be alright. I would resize them first, then check if the chamber before you put powder/pill in them.

It is "once fired", probably from the states. I reckon they are out of an AR and it's an extractor mark. Most of the cartridges were really good - well under a quarter were dented like these.

Edit: yeah, what Supaduke said.

50 000 odd cup is the same no matter what cartridge it is .

Personally I would FL and shoot them all. No concern here.
