Chasing 50 big cases

Post by Ed9362 » 12 Jun 2017, 5:07 pm

Hi guys,

Does anyone have any 50 BMG cases I could buy.

I'm chasing 2 of them. I want to use them as handles for my beer taps so split or damaged necks are fine but I would like every else to be presentable.

My plan is to give them a shine with some brasso and then lacquer them to maintain the shine.

Cheers,
Ed

Mind you, he is a mate of Ben, so might be Two Bob short of a quid. :allegedly:

If you get stuck I'm sure I can find a couple empties, the choice is WCC or Hornady head stamp. Can toss in some 38 / 357Mag to make the stand offs as well, I've got a picture in my head of what you're making. Post some pics when you're done and you might end up getting some requests to make more :)
Was cleaning up some boxes over the weekend and found 100 Hornady 50BMG empties I'd forgotten about from last trip away along with 10kg of 45ACP brass. Age must be catching up with me :(

Get off your knees junjun.

Just an after thought. 22 mm canon may be a better choice as its a bit bigger. But will be harder to source.

Funny you mention 20mm....I'm working with an importer at the moment who has a bulk lot of percussion primed 20mm sitting in the U.S. Should have a couple hundred cases in my sweaty little mitts within a few months. Once they ship I'll order the forming dies and the 20/50 reloading die set. I somehow thought the O.P was making cupboard or toolbox handles, then the 357 case offer.

Projectiles.....How you going to finish off the tap handle without a projectile? PM me you address and I'll send you a couple CNC Copper solids :)

I agree 22 MM cannon would be nice but i have a height limitation on my taps so the frezzer door doesnt open the taps when i open it.

As it is im going to have to do some trimming to get them to fit.

I thought it would be nice to combine my brewing hobby with my shooting hobby. I will post some picks when it is up and running
