New load for 300wm - Grouping results

Post by Australian_Patriot » 23 Jun 2017, 11:03 am

Hey guys,

Thought id check in with a range report, some of you 300wm shooters might be interested.

I have a Tikka T3 Varmint 300WM in an MDT Chassis. The below load of 5 shots grouped at .230" or just over half a centimetre at a 100m. Thought id try my luck at 414m for the 1st time, i ended up with a group of just under 3". I only managed to shoot off 3 rounds as opposed to my normal 5 for groupings.

Whats your thoughts? Is this a good group for a 300wm @ 400ms? Id welcome any feedback.

My load was:

175 SMK HPBT
PPU Brass
Fed 215 Primers
75gr 2213sc
Cases trimmed to 2.610
CBTO - 2.883 = 60thou off lands

Anything under 1inch per 100m is good shooting in my opinion. Especially in an outdoor environment.

Hey Patriot.

Just curious for comparison but did you try the same loads in the factory stock before switching to the MDT Chassis at all?
